Zags are now the most westerly team left in the tournament. New Mexico and then Colorodo next. Only Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, Iowa State, and St. Louis are also left from our side of the Mississippi River.

I had high hopes for San Diego State, UNLV, and even Long Beach to make some noise in the tournament. The suckiness of the Pac-dozen is well documented, but does the apparent collapse of west coast hoops help or hurt the perception of Gonzaga?

The only certain thing is that no other team has any claim to "Best of the West", expecially after they beat the Buckeyes tomorrow.
