Hopefully all things go smooth
Carter scores double digits, Pangos hits a couple 3’s, and we win the game by 20 plus.
Now that GU has scored 15 pts they should be able to transition
smoothly into a 7 min scoring drought.
"Monninghoff has to understand that he needs to come in and knock that shot down"
The hell is Fox talking about? It’s not like Monninghoff comes in and thinks “I wanna get real close but not make it.”
Does anyone know if heart is hurt? Since st mary’s his playing time has been down and I really miss his defensive effort.
Sacre
Been hearing lots of speculation on Sacre. Take a look at his arms, noticed this for a few weeks, they are not the guns they were at the beginning of the season. With the thumb injury, I am not surprised. But unlike the early games where 8-10 min into the game if not pulled, he still looked fresh. These days he is looking winded much earlier. I am wondering if he uses lighter weight, many reps for conditioning so the thumb affects that also.

Doubtful
Lifting lighter weights Should not affect his stamina. Also, there are other ways of lifting using tension bands tied around the wrists

Fair enough
but health (flu, colds etc) diet or something — that is not the same body he had to start the year.

possibly
I heard that Edi/Pangos (i think) were sick for the BYU game so I guess it’s possible it could have spread.
I can’t attest to basketball, but I know in sports such as baseball, players will add a lot of weight in the offseason because they are able to workout every day, but when the season starts, they stop lifting quite as much as to not fatigue themselves with the stresses of games and travel.
Someone with collegiate basketball experience may be able to speak to this much better than I can so I will defer to them.
BYU losing to Portland in 2nd half
39-35, 16 minutes remaining

I was expecting this
probably many of us were. All the talk about this team having great chemistry early in the year, we seem very out of sync to say the least
unimpressed
A lethargic win against a poor team. Harris continues to look winded. Does he smoke? Anyone know? Could be an issue here, if so. Sacre OK at the stripe but an “and one” is three points instead of two. Maybe he needs the brilliant mathematician Bobby Knight to tell him that.

Little better than the BYU game
We got a ‘W’
I am thankful for that.
However, our future opponents have to be more than encouraged. We are very beatable right now.
