After reading I_am_a_ZAG's post, and what he said about Rob, I got interested in looking into Gonzaga's recruiting for next year, and I'm not too sure of what to make of what I see. Is the coaching staff looking to develop their current players, because of the level of talent that they were able to pick up last year (not to mention the talent that is red shirting *hopefully KO is developing well, his moves on the bench have been pretty impressive!).
From what I have seen Amedeo Della Valle is the only player that they have offered a scholarship to, and that seems like a long shot. I'm not even sure of how many scholarships Gonzaga has to give (I'm assuming there's only 1 - Rob's).
What do you guys think about this? Despite what a lot of people say, Sacre will be a pretty big loss in the post, especially on the defensive end. Hopefully Dower and Harris will refine their D over the summer, but do you think adding Kelly into the mix will make up for the loss of Rob? I think it would be nice if Gonzaga could pick up a young wing, that could possibly red shirt during Edi's senior season. I think it would also be nice to get a good true center, more like a Waldow to take up space in the paint and give our guards a shot blocker to fall back on in defense.
Do you guys think the coaching staff is focusing more on European players again and not announcing it? What are your thoughts?
