We're not out of the woods yet; not even close. Gonzaga lost at Santa Clara and USF last year, and that's this weekend's road swing. Sacre is the only player on the current roster ever to beat the Dons in Memorial Gym (we've lost at USF the last two seasons).
Set your alarm clock to Zombie Nation tomorrow. Game on, Gaels.

How about you go get an outright title before you talk about US not accomplishing anything. Your team sucks and they only beat GU because it’s their most important game.

He was very respectful after we lost in Moraga and after we won at home. Yeah, he is reeling and saying some dumb stuff, but lay off. This has got to be hard to swallow. I mean how many times can the Gaels melt down on him? It’s gotta hurt to get your hopes up and then realize those strings are attached to your heart and those strings rip the still beating heart out of your chest. We don’t need to step on it and squirt blood and pride everywhere.

Wasn’t televised. Where are the ROOT execs? Asleep? The only team left from the WCC who had a prayer of upending SMC and all we had was Gamecast. I was sorely disappointed.
BUT! I LOVE LMU! They did it! I can’t believe our luck!

I don't think SMC choked as much as....
played a more athletically gifted team who plays very well on the road….coupled with the fact that SMC…as I advised Gaelfan on his “count your chickens before they hatch” post….peaked about 3 weeks ago…..and..as I advised…would experience the let down….and come back to earth and play at their true level of talent and ability….they have….
and I quote:

Here is something that the past may tell you about the present SMC team….they look to me, like a team that is peaking….peaking too early IMO. What does that have to do with the past you may ask….well let me tell you….GU over the last 11 seasons has had teams that total mopped the floor with your precious Gaels…because they were peaking…playing very well….let me tell you, that sh*t does not last….at some point SMC is going to shoot like they did against Denver and Baylor….and you can be sure that game is coming soon. In fact, if you look at the stats, SMC has had 6 other games in which they performed very poorly in their "bread and butter" stat, EFG %. it was just masked because they were playing an inferior team. I am not going to chirp about the past total dominance of the league and your Gaels…I could and it would be justified and honestly come by…..but I will say, GU has been there and believe me, the let down is coming.
This GU team and LMU team for that matter are getting their collective acts together…I for one am happy to see it.
I am not going to gloat…cause it was LMU who went to SMC and beat them….not GU…we got beat there pretty good. I will say, the BYU game really becomes important….
Also…..if Holt is hurt and can’t play….this SMC team loses at Murray State and probably San Francisco…..maybe even Portland….but….less of a chance on that one….
four more games….here is to hoping the positive trends in this team continue!

In all honesty, and this is odd, I really felt sorry for the St M team when their lousy, fair weather fans deserted them late in the game. I hope that NEVER happens at GU.
"Choke" is a bit over the top
There best player was injured and a good one in Holt couldn’t finish the game. They got beat by a good team in LMU. No need to dis, IMO, because LMU did what we couldn’t do albeit with injuries to SMC.
That said, thank you LMU!!!!!!!!!!
Well, there is one thing for absolute certain...
And that is, St. Mary’s definately has a stranglehold on CHOKE.

I ran into the LMU team at the Davenport after the GU game, Talked with Drew Viney for a minute. All the kids were being very repectful and Drew was quite pleasant. Also thought they played a clean game against GU – not flopping or pushing as much as some recent opponents. So congrates to them and Thanks.
Come on GU! As Mike said – please keep focused and make the best of this gift!
It’s a pain being back east (on business, I’m an MDzagfan this week). Game was past my bed time and USA Today didn’t have the score (past their bed time too). Had to sneak a peek on the web during work.
Come on man, you got to stay up and be a zombie tomorrow.
I got an ugly job for that- elementary school teacher. Goes much better when we win. When we lose- little kids stay out of my way. Go Zags!
