Bulldog Bloodbath

In full disclosure, I am a homer, a soldier and a promulgator of Gonzaga basketball jingoism.

Even though it is early in the season, it is hard not to feel the excitement, like war drums beating deep in my chest. I have long thirsted to see a Zag squad with this kind of killer instinct. You might as well call them a basketball death squad when their average margin of victory this season is a gory 29 points. Keep in mind, these were not all against defenseless nations, but they were against warriors from the Big 12, the ACC and the mighty Goliath-slaying Davidson.

Zags are on the warpath and I think you all feel it. I am sure this gets said every year, but this looks to be THE year. Already we have demolished every team in our path leaving opponents limping in their own blood spattered shame. Yet, with each and every game it seems that a new soldier rises to glory. This team has too many looks and too much depth to be weak or vulnerable. There are opponents who can beat them, but they will have to bleed to do it. As long as the injuries and/or off-court drama don't undermine this momentum, the Zags will bathe in WCC championship exaltation again. They could possibly even emerge in March without a single mark of shame on their record. Regardless of how you see it, this relentless onslaught which we have witnessed so far will take the Zags deep in their march in March.

Let your war cry be heard.
