The USA Today Coaches Poll has been released and the Gonzaga Bulldogs have moved up three spots to #16. While it isn't as meaningful of a jump as CBS & ESPN gave the Zags, to be 16th heading into the Old Spice Classic is a great position for the Bulldogs.
As we have said a number of times, the Coaches Poll is a bit of a joke as most of the time it is a coach that simply hasn't watch much action (how could they) or polls are filled out by SIDs. Case in point, Colorado. After a great showing in the Charleston Classic that included wins over Dayton, Baylor, and Murray State, the Buffs are still unranked.
While it isn't worth ranting much more over, it still feels like 16 is still a bit conservative considering how this team has looked so far. And, yes, I say that with all the bias in the world.

In the first edition of ESPN's Power Rankings, Gonzaga is in at 12th.
In case you aren't familiar with ESPN's power rankings, they enlist everyone that has an opinion to vote and, in total, they have 18 voters this season so it is a nice proxy for what to expect from the AP voters and the coaches. The highest individual ranking for the Zags came from former coach Seth Greenberg who is so impressed with GU that he thinks they are the 3rd best team in the nation. Their low was 18th from a couple voters. Here is what ESPN's Myron Medcalf had to say about the Bulldogs:
The Bulldogs embarrassed West Virginia (84-50) Tuesday and knocked off South Dakota (96-58) Sunday. They'll play Clemson on Thanksgiving in the opening round of the Old Spice Classic.

One of the better polls across the Internet is CBS Sports' Top 25 (and one) which is spearheaded by senior writers Gary Parrish and Jeff Goodman. After ranking the Bulldogs 19th last week, the pair were impressed enough with Mark Few's squad to give them a seven-spot jump as they are now ranked 12th.
Parrish and Goodman had this to say about the Zags:
Freshman Przemek Karnowski has scored at least 20 points in two of the Zags' first three games.
