Rebounding and Dower

After one game in the books, there isn't much to complain about. I thought Gary Bell played great! I thought he attacked the basket well and played great on ball D. The two areas of concern that came from last game was the lack of rebounding and the lackadaisical play of Big Sam Dower. The two kind go hand in hand. Gonzaga only out rebounded a completely out matched Southern Utah team by four. That's where Dower comes in. I know it's only the first game of the season, but Dower seemed to float in and out of the game. He didn't seem too interested in crashing the boards or play much defense. For the Zags to have a successful run. He needs to more than just a offensive threat. He's more than likely going to play the four or five spot. If he takes the effort into this season like he has in the last two, it could very problematic Gonzaga. I love Dower. I think he has a shot to play at the next level. I just hope he makes the leap that I think he can. Like I said. It's early. Here's to a great season of Gonzaga basketball!
