Virginia Tech has offered scholarships to Montrose Christian forward Michael Carrera and center Kevin Larsen, Mustangs Coach Stu Vetter said Thursday. Both players are rising seniors. Carrera, a 6-foot-6 forward from Venezuela, emerged as a standout this past season, developing a scoring touch around the basket while gaining notice for his energy level and work ethic. He also has scholarship offers from Richmond and Gonzaga, Vetter said. Larsen, a 6-9 center from Denmark, played sparingly most of the season but was splendid as Montrose won the National High School Invitational at season’s end. Gonzaga also has offered Larsen, Vetter said.

According to the Washington Post, Gonzaga has offered scholarships to two players at Montrose Christian. Not sure where these guys fall on the priority list, as Carrera seems like a Richard Longrus clone.
