The Skinny on E

Elias Harris had his ticket to fame and fortune punched. He was supposed to hear his name called early in the NBA's first round and become rich.

But first things first. He decided to come back to Gonzaga for one more year and work on his skills at the {3} where he would best project to play at the next level. He was advised by his national coach to come back, as well as by Gonzaga's coaching staff. He took the bait and boy, did it cost him.

He suffered numerous injuries during the 2011 season, as well as a shoulder injury in the preseason that caused him to gain a lot of weight. He was no longer as effective, explosive and seemed sluggish. His draft stock plummeted. Fortunately for Gonzaga, but not necessarily for Elias, we might now have a chance to see him play in a Zag uniform for another year. Another chance for Elias Harris to get back on track and become the NBA player he seemed destined to be.

We can go a long way next year IF Elias is healthy and back to his old self.

There's no way he leaves this year, it's not even something to worry about.

His stock has plummeted AND there’s a potential for an NBA lockout. He’s back for sure.

coming back this year was best.

If Harris would have left for the NBA last year he would have had a terrible season and ended up like so many other players that left too soon and ended up not playing (like Morrison). Granted, he was hurt early, but his play later in the year was not at a high enough level for him to have been successful in the NBA. He should enjoy his time in college, work hard and see where his talent takes him.

I love E...

But unfortunately, I think he is a tweener. Too small to play the 4 and too slow to play and defend the 3, in the NBA.

He could have went pro last year and made millions. Now the word is out, and he may never get the chance. I really feel bad for him. But, I feel great for Zag fans because he is an exceptional talent and we are very lucky to have him.

I truely HOPE he turns it on so much that he still gets his shot ….and makes it.

Its gonna be gLoRiOUS!!~

Seems logical

It seemed like he was out of shape and gun-shy coming off the injuries, but towards the end of the season he was getting back to usual. I think he and Sacre will give teams problems next season.

Yeah

with the experience and talent inside this could be a pretty awesome team next year.

he did gain a ton of weight in the off season

Initially, I thought it was on purpose to get bigger and stronger, and that it was gained in the weight room, but no…he was fat. And it was because of the injurys.

If he can be healthy this time around I imagine the pounds will melt off and he will be throwin down thundering tomohawk jams and getting so far up in the air he’ll need to bust out an oxygen mask!

Its gonna be gLoRiOUS!!~

Well Mike,

It’s not exactly his fault now is it.

He’s from Germany, and didn’t they lose like 4 or 5 world wars already because of a lack of defending? i kid, i kid.

OK, I had better go hide out for awhile and let the dust settle. Seems like everything I say on here is getting me in trouble!

GO ZAGS!!~

he was pretty good in the tournament

very efficient too, 17 and 8 average over two games. Our best player and most consistent.

E is the second comink of Shawn Marion

drop a few lbs… let your instincts take over E, you are aggressive, and effective
and yes, the comink was my lame joke trying to sound german whilst I typed
