A quick break from the sausage fest.
I know we all get caught up in the Men's team (myself included) but the Women are putting together a great season and deserve a little love as well. Here are some quick shots on their accomplishments and some reasons why we should care.
- They are currently ranked #23 in the AP poll and are likely to be ranked in the Coaches poll today
- They just clinched their 7th straight WCC title while dropping 103 points on the Dons
- They have outscored WCC opponents 1026-706 (average margin of 26.67 ppg)
- They have one of the nation's best players in Courtney Vandersloot who is averaging 18.5 points and almost 10 assists per game
- They are all but guaranteed a spot in the Women's Tourney and will play the 1st and 2nd Rounds at GU and could potentially play the regional rounds in the Arena. Tickets for the first two rounds cost $34 for all sessions or $22 for GU students. Tix for the regional are only $45.
Give the ladies some love and support!

I watch all their games I can on SWX.
They’re looking every bit as good as last year. Another Sweet 16 is on the horizon as well as a conference champ streak of their own.
Not to mention they might be the most watchable women's hoops team ever. Love how they play.
Courtney is so fun to watch. She’s the best PG at Gonzaga including the guys. And it’s not close.

More love for Courtney
She is also one of only 7 men or women to reach 1000 assists. I was fortunate to be at the Pepperdine game when she reached that milestone.
I am looking forward to watching them in Vegas as well as our men.
Gray's sister.
I thought I remember reading that Steven Gray’s sister was recruited by GU. I didn’t notice her on the roster. Is she still playing ball?
Nope
Brittany Gray never played a game for Gonzaga. Sounds like she was just burnt out on the sport for a while.
She is now attending Skagit Valley College.

I have not been following her but it appears she is happy there — in the end that might be the most important thing to a young collegian athlete. I’m sorry she’s not playing at Gonzaga but I do understand the need to be true to yourself. More power to her! Hope she is doing well.
