New Members To Join WCC?
Now that the Big East has 5 new members, Boise St, SDSU, Houston, SMU and Central Florida. Boise St and SDSU are football only. Could they be looking for a new home for their other sports? I'm sure the MWC will kick them and they will need another place to compete. Could we have 2 new members joining the WCC? That would give us 11 teams and i would think we would need 1 more to join. Would Seattle or Denver be that team? Is this a crazy idea or does it make sense? What are your thoughts? Go Zags !!!

Seattle and Denver are joining the WAC next year.
So it doesn’t make “sence” (or for that matter, sense).
SDSU
Maybe just SDSU. And that would give us an even 10. And these would be the travel partners.
SDSU + USD
Gonzaga + Portland
BYU + San Francisco
Pepperdine + LMU
Saint Mary’s + Santa Clara
Actually it looks like they're heading to the Big West or WAC
And Boise State back to the WAC
Gonzaga Bulldogs - 11 straight WCC regular-season championships. 13 straight NCAA tournament appearances.
from what I've heard
they can’t go WAC because it is FBS. They need to go to and FCS conference (WCC, Big Sky, Big West). Adding SDSU would be fantastic.

If that was the case, notre dame wouldn’t have a basketball team in the big east… All reports I have seen has the broncos going back to wac… Haven’t heard much for the aztecs. Would be good to see sdsu in the wcc though another solid opponent to keep us tested through conference play
It was all just a dream...

Notre Dame is in only one FBS conference (Big East). Boise could go independent in football like Notre Dame and put their other sports in any other league, whether it be FBS or FCS. My point was that a school can only be in one FBS conference at a time, a criteria which Notre Dame satisfies.

I hope they all make tons of money because a lot of these moves make no sense at all. BCS BS IMHO.
Remember when the big thing was winning your conference and going to class?
I really think that was better.

Here's all the up to date info
Boise State and San Diego State will place the rest of their athletic programs in the WAC and Big West, respectively, now that their football programs are heading to the Big East for the fall of 2013, multiple sources confirmed to ESPN.com.
Boise State will announce Wednesday afternoon that its football program will join the Big East and the rest of its athletic programs will go back to the WAC, a conference it left for the Mountain West Conference this season, according to a source with direct knowledge of the announcement. The WAC is just waiting for the signed contract from Boise State to make it official, according to source.
San Diego State may not be able to announce its addition to the Big West at the same time it says it will put its football program in the Big East because the Big West board of directors still has to approve the move. But a Big West source with direct knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com that the Aztecs will get approval to join the Big West once the board meets in the coming days or week…….
there’s more in the article linked
Gonzaga Bulldogs - 11 straight WCC regular-season championships. 13 straight NCAA tournament appearances.
Big West
besides geographically, that makes NO sense. When was the last time the big West was relevant in basketball? UCSB is a pretty good mid-major team this year but they don’t have the history of success that certain WCC teams have. The Aztecs (and Air Force) would be great additions for the WCC
Air Force could be joining the WCC though.
“Air Force could still go to the Big East in football; if that occurs, Air Force would end up in either the WAC or West Coast Conference for the rest of its programs”
That would be a logical travel partner with BYU.
Gonzaga Bulldogs - 11 straight WCC regular-season championships. 13 straight NCAA tournament appearances.
SDSU
Would be much more fun for the WCC. And i think the WCC would be a better choice than Big West for SDSU. I would love to add a very good 10th team to the WCC. I dont think Air Force really gets me too pumped up. But i heard the same thing about Air Force. ( i just forgot about it ) I’m sure BYU will be gone soon anyway.
Georgraphy
Since we’re the West Coast Conference, I don’t want Air Force. Having BYU bugs me for that same reason, but they make us look a little better as a league so it’s acceptable. I’d much rather add teams like Seattle than an occasionally decent team that’s not in a West Coast state.
SDSU
Is an even shorter trip from USD to SDSU. 10 min bus ride. You play 1 on Thursday and the other on Saturday. That would save alot of money in travel costs.
Go Zags !!!!
I am aware.
Corneatsman was saying he didn’t want Air Force because it didn’t fit with the “West Coast.” I want both SDSU and AF. If they were in the WCC this year, SDSU would be the 2nd best or maybe even best team and AF would be top 5. Neither school fits the pedigree of the rest of the WCC, but in these crazy times, the WCC needs to make some moves to keep up with all this conference realignment.

Air Force and Denver
I want both AF and Denver to join for purely selfish reasons. Since I live in CO, it would give me a chance to see the Zags twice a year. Plus, considering what Denver did to St Mary’s, they actually might be a good fit and AF should be two easy wins each year, minus the altitude.
