yea...
me too. I saw him as a Matt Bouldin-like player. He wasn’t as good, but I still liked the style. And Matt Bouldin is my favorite player from the last 5 years… And I think the most underrated.
Bouldin
would have been greatly benefitted by the presence of a real PG. Him and Gray would have seen a lot more open looks, just look at how good Bouldin was in his freshman year (also Pargo’s peak year, at least in terms of speed). Bouldin had the talent and the basketball IQ of an All American, maybe even the athleticism, but he did not have the speed to get an open look or defend against the very athletic defenses of Memphis, Syracuse, and Duke. Very underrated player, but I understand why: he was asked to do too much.

I'm sorry,
yet the only thing I’ll remember about Grant Gibbs is his public outcry and constant bitching about lack of playing time on Facebook & Twitter following every game he didn’t play in.
Very immature of him, imho.
Best of luck to him at Creighton, but his actions while at Gonzaga seemed self-centered and not much of a team player, especially from someone who couldn’t stay healthy.
Playing time is earned, not given.
Apologies if I’m being harsh, but I have little patience for athletes who use social media to complain about their internal frustrations.
Maybe he’s grown up, b/c he needed to…

Facebook and Twitter
did he really? I wasn’t aware of that, but if he did that’s ridiculous.
agreed
he seemed like a Zag on the outside but he always cried about not playing on the interwebs. Very immature at that point in his life, but I wish him the best at Creighton regardless.

Is this really a fanpost?
No offense but I feel it is better suited as a fanshot.

Woops
Ya, Gaz brings up a good point. Try and use the FanShots for these kind of link-based things from now on!
The Slipper Still Fits - SB Nation's home for the Gonzaga Bulldogs!
Really curious and excited to see what he can do at Creighton
If I remember correctly, Creighton is one of the highest ranked mid majors this year. So, they are supposed to have a really good team. Let’s see if Gibbs can make us proud.
Just checked…Predicted to win the Missouri Valley Conf, they are ranked #3 Mid Major in the country, right behind Gonzaga and Butler.
Ahead of St. mary’s, BYU, VCU, and George Mason, so yeah, he is on a pretty good team.
Final 4 or Bust!!~

It's interesting
that other relevant mid majors will see significant contributions from former Zags:
Gibbs-Creighton
Arop-Indiana St
Dan Monson-Long Beach St

GJ
This is also G.J. Vilarino’s first year playing at Appalachian State. I though he had so much to offer but i think he also suffered from being a self-centered player wanting minutes.
Grant did complain all the time about not getting minutes, and then he would go out and choke when he got them.
He could’ve replaced Matt but i think he mostly didnt like being far from home either. Regardless, i hope he does well this year.
Good D3 players
Gibbs and Vilarino would be excellent D3 players. I cannot wait until this blog stops talking about them. It makes me think some of you guys don’t know what a stud D1 player looks like. One one hand we talk about making a Final 4 and then we waste huge time arguing about how much time our 10th man should be getting. Blah, blah, blah.
Manny Arop has D1 physical talent. Talking about him is at least thought-provoking. We could have found a role for him as a knock-down defender and rebounder. He was not a shooter and never should have been allowed to. Maybe he couldn’t accept a role like that or maybe his role was never defined.
?
If you would like to make a fan post detailing all acceptable topics i shall promise to never discuss anything off of the list.
I mean who are you? Nobody is making you come on here and post your vomit you call diction, don’t let us waste your precious time.

MdZagFan- Oh Pure Blather {does this sound familiar to you? It should. You coined the phrase.
You have a rather askewed appreciation of your views regarding certain players and I can bet a large majority of readers think you are a little left of the bubble on your beliefs as you have outlined here.
Give it a few weeks and let’s see if Gibbs and GJ can at least make your D2 team. MY money is on yes, they are definately D2 quality and in most likelihood D1.
And as Berkie said, if reading about other members views and opinions bothers you so much….change the channel?
I always thought that differing opinions is what made for successful blogs.

Transfers are worth tracking...
Considering how many transfers GU has had in recent years, I think how well they do in other settings and on different teams will be illuminating. Is GU actually losing quality players who had the talent to contribute? Or are these players whose talent level didn’t necessarily deserve a scholarship offer? I wish these guys the best, but I think they act as a sort of foil for the health of our own program. Don’t deride us for caring enough to post a link every now and then.
Zagnificent - GU Class of 2010
I liked Grant..
he played kind of chippy, and definitely had good court vision…wish we could have seen him at 100%. GOOD LUCK AT CREIGHTON
good first game
I checked out the box score and he played well. Third leading scorer, top rebounder if I recall correctly.
