We will get over this weekend, so will the team.  However we have been hit over the head too many times with the truth...This team is more inconsistent, and looks worse at times than any team since our elite eight run... and even at our best, we haven't looked as good as our recent teams at their best, either. 

     I will put forth that I still believe this team can learn to play to their strengths (size, depth) more consistently, and make this post moot..right now, I am looking at this team like a used car,  AS IS....

     A day ago, I was just hoping we would still squeeze into the field of 64.  Why, just to get 3 points rained on us, watch people get to the rim at will, and Rob get ticky tacked out of the game within 7 minutes.... just to wonder where E is at....just to wonder what was running through Meech's head at that moment...just to think, "wait till next year, maybe DS can hang with that guy on the defensive end"...just to watch KO look like and NBA lock for a couple plays, and a deer in the headlights the rest of the game...just to wonder why Dower is on the bench...????????

     Way over the top with the pessimism, I know, but here is why I feel a tourney win, and key to the final 64 would be Pyrrhic.

     The NIT is filled with teams that just didn't have quite enough talent, and talented teams that just couldn't put it together (us).  We might could get on a mini roll, a couple convincing wins, against teams we are better than, maybe make their final four.  Then, we would likely be on equal footing with 3 other teams, and whatever happened, Zag nation would get enthused, and head into next year feeling awesome about our guard heavy frosh coming in...I don't know, sounds better than an 18 point beat down in the first round.

    Some will read this post and think "sacrilege,,, we need to defend our streak of NCAA appearances", some will think I am way over optimistic about how we would perform in NIT. 

     I understand, this team gives us no consistent barometer, we're all just reachin'
