Hi ho, hi ho, it’s on the road we go

A home date with St. Mary’s looms and if neither of us trip up in the next couple of games it will be huge. And if all goes as well as I expect, it will set up a showdown for first place in the WCC with St. Mary’s coming to Spokane at 18-2 and Gonzaga at 15-5.

But first things first. We have to go on the road for the next two games and take on Santa Clara, followed by University of San Francisco. Can we keep on rolling and pull out victories against these two teams?

Let us take a quick look:

Santa Clara- (Record 10-9), losses to Ohio, Pacific, Delaware. Zero quality wins. Only one player as tall as 6’9. Kevin Foster is a very talented guard. We will need to try to shut him down, perhaps with Gray/Meech. This team scores a lot of points {73 ppg} but gives up a lot {72 ppg}.

USF- (Record 8-10), losses to Cal St Bakersfield, Loyola (IL), Montana State. Zero quality wins. Their outstanding guard, Michael Williams is shooting .500 from being the arc. They only score 65 ppg, while yielding 68 ppg. They have won 4 of their last 5 games.

Even though both teams have the Zags game circled on their calendar and beating us would make their year, neither team looks like it has the firepower to knock off Gonzaga. We are on a roll and playing our best overall basketball of the season. Riding a 9 game winning streak and with so much on the line, I cannot see the Zags slipping up. We also have too much size inside for either of these teams to handle, and with so many of our bench players contributing and able to step up at any point, both of these teams should get ready for a beat down. Hi ho hi ho hi ho……

Oh...I almost forgot, lets throw a poll up.

USF has one quality win

They somehow eked out a W against a very good Colorado team.

Woops

Missed that one…but like Zach said, they are streaky. And it was @ USF, by only 2 points, and early in the season….right around the time CU got clobbered by Harvard, 66-82.

Its gonna be gLoRiOUS!!~

Strangely

Im less nervous about this team losing a conference game then i was with last year’s team. It seems like this year we haven’t been taking games off where we get down early and try to make a late game comeback. Last year i felt as if a conference loss was inevitable, but now i think we’ll just keep on truckin.

I don't hate many things, but i do hate Boise State.
