BYU to WCC is now Confirmed

Looks like WCC basketball just got even better....sources indicate BYU will join the WCC in all sports apart from football in 2011/2012.

Weren't we clamoring to join the MWC just a couple months ago?

I’d prefer to keep the WCC small, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Seattle hop on board soon, as well.

I’d love to see Jimmer Fredette crying on the Kennel floor. Unfortunately, it looks like the dates won’t work out for that. Regardless, this makes the conference ~50% more competitive.

Instantly increases the level of play within the conference. Good for Zags and the WCC. If we added Seattle it would be years before they would be a contender to play competitively. All for expanding the conference to no more than 10 -12 teams, but only if the new school can quickly compete. Not looking to make the bottom of the WCC look better by bringing in mediocre programs.

Seattle isn't all that bad

Cameron Dollar has done a great job there — if their past performance is any indicator, they will be ready much sooner than you think.

Seattle Pacific….Seattle U. I was thinking I remember reading that one of these teams had a guard to kill for, and did not they upset like Oregon or someone last year?
