Some news on GJ

ESPN ran a quick little blurb about GJ today on its College Basketball Rumor Mill. It said that he chose Appalachian State as the school to which he will transfer(I don't know if this is old news or not). It mentioned another transfer that App State got from Rutgers, a 6'11" center named Brian Okam. Both seem to have the same story, guys that played on teams that did not really need them at the time and transferred to a team in a small conference. This was a quote that I loved,

"Vilarino was somewhat expendable for the Kentuckys and Gonzagas of DI, but he'll be a major piece for the Mountaineers..."

it later said,

"So both players will need to work hard during their transfer seasons in order to live up to the hype of their power-conference pedigrees."

Its good to hear some news on GJ and it is always good to hear Gonzaga mentioned with Kentucky in such a positive way, also who knew that the WCC was a "power conference". How great would it be to match up with Appalachian State in the tournament in 2011?

Good for GJ

I’m happy for him and hope he does well at App St. Best of Luck

App State should have a nice team next year.

I still think GJ could learn a bit about playing point guard. Otherwise he is a solid player that should help this program a great deal.
