Harris and the possible lockout

Nobody has really said anything about it on this site, so i thought i would bring it up.  There is a lot of talk about all the early entrees into this years draft because of the potential for a lockout after next season.  If a new agreement isnt reached by draft time next year,  how could this affect Harris and gu?  Especially with our lack of scholarships.  Is this something that our coaching staff is taking into consideration?

Harris will always have a place on GU's roster...

…schollies will work themselves out. And remember, schollies last just one year not the whole playing career.

My understanding

Even with a lockout…there would still be a draft, as the lockout wouldn’t be schedule to begin until July 1 when free agency starts

Final 4 or bust

Also keep in mind..

The owners bring a lot of power into this negotiation. There is no doubt that the way the NBA has done things over the last 10 years has been failing, the revenues are up but the profits are down. For the NBA to stay financially viable they will demand a restructuring of the way contracts are written up. They have too many examples of bad contracts being given out(see: Curry, Eddy). Also they will make sure the new contracts will be much more easily voided(see: Arenas, Gilbert and McGrady, Tracy). The owners have much of the power in the upcoming negotiations.

The point of this is that NBA contracts will be restructured to become more owner friendly, and more owner friendly means less money for the players. So if a player has a chance to be drafted before the restructuring this means they will be given a much more player friendly contract, rather than waiting a year which gives them less money and fewer years.
