Tracking the AAU Circuit: Kyle "Drain" ginis
Lost in much of the excitement and intrigue surrounding the recent commitments of Gary Bell Jr and Keegan Hyland, as well as the transfer of Grant Gibbs, is the fact that Kyle Dranginis is coming off of another Mr. Basketball award in the state of Idaho. Dranginis, who was the first commitment of the 2011 class, is an outstanding combo guard in the mold of a Matt Bouldin and Blake Stepp. While both Zach and I have been a little wary and critical of the competition that Kyle faces in high school, it will be exciting to monitor the production that Kyle is able to have against some of the top teams on the AAU circuit. Any Gonzaga fans living in Spokane will have the opportunity to see Kyle play on May 22nd and 23rd when Boise FLITE plays in Spokane.
Kyle and his Boise FLITE teammates just won the Star Vision Sports Spring Premier tournament in Las Vegas. If his performance in Las Vegas is any indication, Dranginis might no longer be such a secret. In the tournament, Dranginis averaged 32 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals over the six games, thus earning the Kyle "Drain" ginis. We would like to thank Loren Schwarzhoff of Boise FLITE for providing us with this schedule.
Boise FLITE schedule:April 30th- May 1st: Star Vision Sports Spring Premier (Kyle averaged: 32 pts, 12 rbs, and 9 assists)- (Las Vegas, NV)
May 22nd-23rd: Spokane Spring Showcase Invitational- (Spokane, WA)
July 9th-11th: NW Premier- (Seattle, WA)
July 22nd- 26th: The Center Stage Tournament- (Las Vegas, Nevada)
Kyle Dranginis Individual Schedule:
June 26th-June 27th: Gonzaga Elite Camp followed up by Skyview attending Gonzaga Team Camp II (We are still attempting to confirm Skyview attending this Gonzaga team camp)

It looks like we may need to go to Vegas
….shoot. I sure do hate it there. ;)
The Slipper Still Fits - SB Nation's home for the Gonzaga Bulldogs!
Incredible stats down in Vegas!
Talk about under the radar! Putting up those numbers against a middle school team would be impressive, let alone in an AAU tourney. Keep the updates coming, now I am really interested to see what he will do this summer.
How do you pronounce his last name?
Hard to do over the computer I know but if anyone could help me out I’d appreciate it lol

Star Vision Sports Spring Premier tourney???
Anyone know what the talent level like is like in this tourney?
Is it better than KD’s high school league but much lower that elite AAU teams like Oakland Soldiers and Seattle Rotary?
Not the highest level of AAU ball
But much better than his high school competition. The big AAU Tournament to monitor will be the Center Stage in Las Vegas, as that will have some of the best competition in the country.
Final 4 or bust
Cautiously Optimistic
I really do hope this guy pans out. I would love to dare to think into the future with a team that has GBJ at the point with SG Keegan and/or Kyle raining threes or just jump shots FTM.
KD
My advice is to go see him play at least 3 times. Don’t take anybody’s word for how good he is. Make up your own mind after watching him then a person can make legitimate comments about his play. It sounds like Max and ZB have seen him play in person also! I’m sold on him and will go back for at least 6-8 games in his Senior year. To quote a phrase used by Coach Lavin “As a Coach, he’s the kind of player when you watch him play, just brings a smile to your face.”
AAU circuit for Kyle Dranginis
