Have you guys seen Lunardi's latest bracket yet? He's demoted the Zags down to a 5 seed but predicts that they end up playing in both Spokane AND SLC anyway. What's even better is that they'd be up against UConn, Temple, Purdue, and Kansas State/Tennessee/Georgetown. Not one of these teams has impressed me much this season and I feel that a draw like this (and barring a USF/LMU performance from the Zags) could lead to GU's first Final Four.

If only I could believe the committee would be this generous (or stupid)...

Interestingly enough...

He also stuck St. Mary’s in Spokane against Xavier. Now, will Zag fans root for the fellow Jesuit institution or for the only other WCC rep in the Dance? And don’t forget about Michigan St. They’re sitting in a rather comfortable position to play the winner of that matchup.

Go Zags!

I'll take the home court advantage...

But I think either K-State or Georgetown (especially Georgetown with Monroe) would kill us.

This is my ideal scenario, I just bought plane tickets to be in SLC for the second weekend.

If GU wins out there I swear I will spend whatever it takes to go to the Final Four and see them play every game. I know it’s a long shot (understatement of the year) so I feel pretty comfortable saying it but seeing them win all six games on route to a championship would be a dream come true.

Georgetown

The Hoyas would be an extremely tough team to beat no matter where we play. However, that being said, I think I would love to play Purdue. They are a top team but just lost their largest threat, Hummel, to an ACL injury. I think if we roll on all cylinders we could send them home.

Purdue

I can see the Zags DOMINATING Purdue. I’ve watched them extensively (my dad is a grad), and they lack athleticism and have an incredibly difficult time matching up against players like Elias, Rob, Manny, and Manny. Our size would absolutely pick them apart, especially with Hummel out. They run a fundamentally strong defense, but the man-to-man matchups favor the Zags.

UConn

scares me in the first round – They’ve been playing well as of recently, working there way back into the tournament. They have picked up some pretty big wins against WVU, Nova and playing Syracuse close. Loved seeing GU in spokane, but in all honesty wasn’t thrilled to see the Huskies there too
