When I was studying in Italy a couple years ago, Slipperstillfits.com was a steady source for all my Gonzaga basketball updates. There were generally quick game wraps, followed by more in depth game analysis along with quality intermediate articles and excellent game previews. Is it just me or has content been thinned out this year?
The game against Baylor was without a doubt one of the most important wins this team has had in recent years. And what does the "#1 Source for Bulldogs Discussion and Opinion" report? A short, mediocre reaction post with promises of "much more later." And that would be WHEN? This has happened numerous times already this year, and I completely understand that people get busy and it's hard to find the time. But seriously, an unranked, dismally hopeless Zags team beating the 9th ranked team in the country?
The other thing I have been a little surprised by is how flaky the fanhood of the writing staff seems to be. The started off the year, like everyone else, with high hopes and predictions of the elite eight (or better). A couple losses later and there are articles like "Blood in the water" and "can toughness be taught?" Sure, everyone was disappointed in those losses, and yes we played terribly. But come on! Shouldn't sports writers be able to rise above their emotions and convey some more helpful, forward-looking game analysis? I just think Slipperstillfits.com spiraled into dismal hopelessness way to quickly.
Please know: I deeply appreciate everything you guys do for Gonzaga Nation. You certainly provide the best Zag basketball content on the internet and the time and effort you invest into this site means a lot to the fans. God knows I wouldn't be able to do a better job. I would just encourage you to keep up the good work and not let the quality or quantity of content continue declining.
