Meech's Job to lose to . . . Stockton!!

Many of you have expressed doubts about Meech. In fact, he has been described as the potential Challenger disaster of the season. (see http://www.slipperstillfits.com/2010/10/28/1779969/ap-poll-released-gonzaga-12#50613633).  A minority seem to think that  he has some potential to fly high this year.  Unquestionably, Meech's role has been limited by Coach Few in the past.  Really Meech has done little more than bring the ball up the court.

I spent some time thinking about who else could bring the ball up the court and have come to a conclusion that I am sure some may scoff at.  The man for the job is David Stockton

You can't deny that this kid has raw athletic ability.  Both of his parents and even some of his grandparents and great grandparents played sports at the highest levels.  His brother Houston is playing in college.

David Stockton exudes athletic ability.  He helped carry the Bullpups in both basketball and football.  He led the basketball team to a GSL title and a fourth place finish at state.  As quarterback, he led his football team to an 8-2 record.  8-2!

I know what the naysayers are going to yell:  He's only 5-8 and 130 pounds.  Actually, he is 5-11 now and pushing 160.  Plus, his dad is only 6'1" (if we are being generous) and he wasn't that tall when he played for the zags.

Have you guys seen David move?  He plays great defense, moves really well with the ball and has a beautiful looking shot.  The guy a F-22 Raptor!  He can weave and cut like nobody's business.  Have you noticed his court sense?  It is like he has eyes in the back of his head.  I am looking forward to seeing David get some minutes this year.  I just hope he gets them early on so he can rise to the Challenge(r) (get it!??!) and show what he can do.
