Memphis to Vacate 2007-08 Season, Emotional Damage Lingers
Remember this game?
I know I sure do. The image of Joey Dorsey blocking Matt Bouldin's three-point attempt and running down court for a furious dunk still plays in my head from time to time.
Anyways, it turns out Gonzaga didn't technically lose this game since Memphis will have to vacate their entire 2007-08 season which happened to result in 38 wins and the title of national runner up. The ruling will come later today, ESPN reports, and will be the only penalty that Memphis and former head man John Calipari will face. Stripping a team of a final four run is pretty small potatoes when you consider that the allegation was a fake SAT score that helped then freshman phenom and current Chicago Bull Derrick Rose get in to Memphis.
The best part is that Jeremy Pargo outdueled Mr. Rose, scoring 25 points in comparison to Rose's 19. But still, you can't take away the memory of Joey Dorsey.

no...
we still lost this game…no way i will consider us having a win against Memphis until we actually beat them on the scoreboard…
I'm counting it.
Even though Derrick did show some business-savvy and entrepreneurship by having someone else take the test for him. Shows some real “go-getter” attitude. And it also shows that he is a team player with a heart for his family which is why his brother got to ride around in the Memphis jet.
Do those count as extracurriculars?
The Slipper Still Fits - SB Nation's home for the Gonzaga Bulldogs!
Gee!
I wonder if MONEY has anything to do with this, nope, was I wrong? I wonder where they mostly recruited and who? Oh yah, it was HS players, thats the ticket, just normal everyday HS players. I stand corrected on my “Prep” post, it’s not the money, nobody had intentions on benefiting here. The “NCAA”, the dictionaries definition for Lobotomy.
