4 seed is a bit high...

Don’t get me wrong, I would certainly love to play in Boise as a 4 seed, however, I see a 5-7 more likely. Remember I believe last year when Butler finished with a ranking of 10 and received the 7 seed? The committee doesn’t smile upon mid-majors unless you’re playing damn near flawlessly (Memphis).
We have a history of being screwed in this department. Four is lofty. IF we win the WCC I believe we could get as high as a five seed, but a 6 or 7 is what we’ll get. The stretch at the end of December really is going to hurt us. Sports analysts won’t forgive the Portland St. loss, and our chance to redeem against a top team, Memphis, we pulled a disappearing act.
Thoughts?

Four is lofty but

This is an odd year in college basketball with plenty of teams dangling on that mediocre line. I mean, who would have thought Florida State would be in contention for a four or five seed at the start of the season. You are more than right about the way mid-majors tend to get treated in seeding. Butler was hosed last year and a few years back, Gonzaga was treated the same way. Most of the teams on the five line will probably be above Gonzaga on most national bracketologies but I don’t view Purdue or Missouri as being a better team than Gonzaga at this point.

I see the Zags landing in the 4-6 range based on how they perform in the WCC tournament.

better than football

Hey, at least we get a chance, us, George Mason, Davidson, etc. have a slim chance in hoops. In football, none of the little guys get a chance at the title. I know about App. State over Michigan, but I am talking about Utah or Boise State getting a shot at the BCS Title game.
