Andy Katz on the Texas Scrimmage!!!
I've always respected Andy Katz, but today he became my personal hero! He gave some pretty detaiied info about the scrimmage in Denver and the news is mostly good for GU. Check out the whole story here GU-TX Scrimmage. Apparently Sacre and Elias Harris were incredible going for 26-9 and 22-8 respectively which is GREAT news for GU fans. According to his source the final score was 77-74 with Texas eking out the win in a 40 minute scrimmage which is more than respectable for such a young squad. Check out Andy's recap if you are curious about how the scrimmage went down.

Very positive
Thanks for posting this, was just actually coming over to put some of it up so I appreciate it. Obviously very, very exciting stuff. I just got an email from a Texas guy saying he heard great things about the scrimmage and Gonzaga’s big guys. I just can’t wait to see these guys.

No worries
You won’t offend me if you put a more in depth write up on the main page and delete this fanpost, I just wanted everyone to be aware of this as I think every true GU fan was dying to know how it went.
Great news
Having read the consistent “under the radar” comments I was quick to assume that everyone was simply trying to make a positive out of what was clearly a negative (the consistently poor evaluation of a team by paid professions). But after seeing this news from a source like Andy Katz, I must say that I’m a believer in this team and truly excited for the season. Though I doubt making waves in the tournament would be truly surprising for a team like Gonzaga (at least not as surprising as it was in the late 90s), It’s nice being able to be the team jockeying for respect and coming out each night with something to prove. While last year’s team was stacked, it did seem like they came out flat a number of nights, especially late into WCC play simply because they expected to win and didn’t care about individual performances or growing as a unit. Hopefully, with a team as fresh as this one and full of new talent looking to achieve starting positions or consistent playing time, that will never be the case. I can see a few rocky games on the immediate horizon, but as this unit finds its groove, I think they will form something truly spectacular.
