Typically, Gonzaga's first regular season test takes place in their early season tournament. This season, with a visit to the Breslin Center to take on Michigan State under their belts, Gonzaga enters the Maui Invitational running at full steam. Today's match up against the Buffs pits Gonzaga as heavy favorites but early season college basketball is always full of upsets so you can bet Mark Few won't have this young team overlooking anyone.

Just turned the game on, was expecting it be a 20 point Zags lead already against a Colorado team that one 1 conference game.
Gonzaga looks lackadaisical, like they expected to have an easy game.

CU has quick hands
Bigs have been too slow passing out of the double
they are getting it low.
but colorado rotates down very well and our bigs are leaving the ball down and letting them get it. elias has been abysmal.

if i was steven gray, i'd be yelling at the coaches.
he lights it up early on and gives us a nice lead and we pull him and put in grant gibbs and colorado starts dominating. when you are this young, you have to play your hot hand early and not let upstart teams like this have a chance.

not a bad second half
the good news is that Few was able to go in at halftime and rally the team for a better second half. Not allowing a 3 point basket in the second half is pretty impressive after giving them all they wanted in the first half. I also like the vets stepping up when it mattered. Yes Steve missed some free throws late but at least he wanted the ball in his hands. Bouldin was so clutch there. I really like seeing that
