New Blog: Anonymous Eagle covering Marquette!

At least for tonight they do. First off, Portland defeated their state school neighbors, the Oregon Ducks 88-81. A very solid nonconference win for Eric Reveno and his squad. Brace yourself for this one, WCC cellar dwellers Loyola Marymount upset USC this evening in LA. Great night for the conference!

Oregon sucks, did no one know that? Not surprised…

i think the point is

that when the WCC can get a win over a pac-10 school…especially the in state power, it’s pretty cool. what’s even more remarkable is how far off oregon basketball has fallen. i understand the demise of USC but Oregon still has the same (not very good) coach and can’t get anything done.

In washington, Gonzaga kind of knows what it is like to be top dog in the state and hopefully portland can continue to build on that win and make it a regular happening.

to add more insult to the pac-10, oregon state also lost to Sacramento State. historically bad pac-10 this year

Not surprised. Last year, the WCC had the best team west of Oklahoma City and the conference is only going to get better :).

Hats off to LMU!

I gotta tell you, I like competitive games – even if the Zags lose one here and there. I know you need to play some games to ‘tune-up’ the team but these aren’t nearly as entertaining as games decided by less than 10 points.

It looks like our conference schedule will be a lot more entertaining this year. Better opponents in the conference can only be a good thing both for the RPI and those that follow the team.
