Gonzaga Drops to #7 in the New ESPN/USA Today Poll

The loss against Arizona cost the Zags three spots in the latest version of the Coaches poll.  Gonzaga now finds itself tied with Xavier for the seventh spot in the nation.  Oklahoma, Texas, and Duke all benefit from the Bulldogs' loss and move up.  North Carolina, Connecticut, and Pitt all still make up the top three.

If the Zags could have strung together two wins against WSU and Arizona, they may have had the opportunity to jump Pitt and set up a battle between #2 and #3 in the Battle in Seattle.  The beautiful thing about a Mark Few schedule is they have to chance to rebound on Saturday against the second-ranked Connecticut Huskies.

For their effort, Arizona is now receiving 15 votes from the coaches.

UPDATE:  Similar story in the AP Poll as Gonzaga drops to 8th just behind Xavier.
